Kevin has spent a significant amount of time in Michigan since the passage of the new law, speaking to groups about what it means, and the opportunities it provides for Michigan communities, entrepreneurs and residents.
The “crowd” component is a key factor in crowdfunding on many levels. By engaging local residents in local economic development investments, entrepreneurs gets to test the market before they go forward with much larger investments and begin to build their customer base.
BUILD is a business and project planning class designed for aspiring and established entrepreneurs. To this day they have graduated over 300 entrepreneurs, many of whom have gone on to start successful businesses in Detroit.
Fostering a culture of entrepreneurship is one of the League’s eight assets that Michigan communities need to grow and strengthen, for our state to sustain and prosper in the 21st century.
